The history of tea dates back thousands of years, originating in ancient China know as Cha, before spreading to other parts of Asia and eventually the rest of the world. Apparently tea or cha in this case was invented by Emperor Shen Nong when tea leaves fell into his boiling water, creating a fragrant infusion that captivated his senses.. In Britain we have been drinking tea for 350 years originally we drank green tea before black tea became more popular. Milk was added to stop bone china cups from cracking, now 98% of all cups of tea in Britain are drank with milk.

At TeaJoy we take our teas serious. Both Ning and Jack attended a course in Taiwan at the National Tea Institute to learn more about tea. We source all our tea from Taiwan working with small farms run by women. We only use high-quality jasmine tea and black tea to make our tea syrups and milk tea powder. Whilst in Taiwan Ning and Jack visited the farms and selected tea and learnt how to source and prepare the tea leafs.
It is one of the reasons why our bubble tea tastes soo good, we use premium tea and only natural fruits to make our tea syrups. Majority of companies use additives and artificial flavouring but we take out tea serious and is what makes our tea tea-rrific
